The reflective patches are indicated for the thermal isolation of temperature probes, regarding the environment. It is a barrier composed by a 1mm thick thermal insulator that minimizes reading errors in probes by preventing contact with environmental heat. It is also composed by a reflective film that eliminates radiation effect from Infant Warms.

The diameter is the appropriate size for low-weight neonates, as well for all the spectrum of neonatologic acute care facilities. According to studies we cite, apart from achieving more faithful temperature readings, the probes achieve a longer duration, since the probe is protected from pulls thanks to the reflective patch that ensures part of the cable. The patch’s adhesive capacity has been tested and it appears to have a prolonged duration, hence, the patient’s lack of need in substituting reflective patches.
